Reported Persons Trapped in Home Proved Negative by Firefighters on Scene

Nanjemoy Volunteers and surrounding departments were dispatched to the 3300 block of Port Tobacco Road in Nanjemoy this morning, after receiving reports of a structure fire and concerns that occupants may be trapped.
At approximately 10:37 a.m. and initially described a house fire affecting a single-family home, according to the early information provided to our 911 Call Center.
Upon arrival, fire officials found that a residential property was not involved and that no individuals were trapped. Incident commanders confirmed the fire was contained to a camper and surrounding brush located around 900 feet from the roadway. Crews worked to control the flames while continuing with the initial response assignment.
