| A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, October 9, 2026, at the La Plata Volunteer Fire Department, located at 911 Washington Avenue, La Plata, MD 20646. The event will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
The schedule is as follows:
Remembrance and speakers will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the La Plata Volunteer Fire Department.
A reception will follow from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., also at the fire department.
Mole joined the department in March 1974 and served in many roles throughout his years with LPVFD. He served as Lieutenant in 1989 and 1991, and as Secretary in 2004. He was an apparatus driver and represented the department as a delegate to both the Charles County Volunteer Firemen’s Association and the Southern Maryland Volunteer Firemen’s Association. He also contributed to several department committees, including Hall Rental, Fundraising, Banquet, and the 75th Anniversary Committees.
Beyond his titles and duties, Mole will be remembered as someone who was always willing to help others. He was reliable, generous with his time, and continually supported his fellow members. His sense of humor and ability to make people smile stood out as much as his dedication to the fire department. His presence made a lasting impact on all who knew him. |
