| Throughout September, the Charles County Volunteer Firemenβs Association proudly recognizes the dedicated men and women who answer the call as volunteer firefighters in Charles County.
Day or night. Weekends and holidays. In the heat of summer and the cold of winter. When the alarm sounds, our volunteers leave their families, their jobs, and sometimes even their own celebrations to respond when someone in our community needs help.
They train countless hours. They miss meals, lose sleep, and sacrifice time with the people they love β not for recognition, but because they have made a commitment to serve their community.

For generations, volunteer firefighters have been an important part of the public safety system serving Charles County.
During Firefighter Appreciation Month, we simply want to say:
THANK YOU.
Thank you for answering the pager.
Thank you for the late nights and early mornings.
Thank you to the families who understand when dinner is interrupted or plans suddenly change.
And most importantly, thank you for continuing the proud tradition of Neighbors Helping Neighbors.
To every volunteer firefighter serving throughout Charles County β we appreciate you, we are proud of you, and we thank you for your service. β€οΈπ
