Shortly after noon today, 911 center received a call from a citizen that said "a female was hanging onto her kayak screaming for help". Engine 92, Engine 74, RE113, Boat #4, Air Boat #8, was dispatched to Slaven's Dock @108 Mattingly Ave. and Boat #20 from NDW Indian Head was dispatched to assist per Chief 8 (Hudson). Chief 9A (Higdon) arrived o/s at Slaven's, assumed command requesting all units to "stage" except Boat #20 and Air Boat #8. within minutes, Boat #20 and Air Boat #8 located the female inside her kayak, stuck in the marsh visible "shook up". Boat #20 brought her on-board their vessel bringing her to Slaven's safely. Great job by Boat #20 and Air Boat #8 as well as units on the scene in "Staging". Kayak-er was treated on scene, refused transport to the hospital. Command was terminated.....GREAT OUTCOME!!!!
