Duck Hunters Stuck in the Marsh Rescued By Tenth District Volunteers

Two "duck hunters" enjoying their afternoon on the Chicamuxen Creek became stuck in the mud next to their "blind". They called 911 to report their situation including their health and location where they are located at 3:00 p.m. Volunteer marine fire units from Tenth District, Nanjemoy, an ambulance from Ironsides and mutual aid from NDW Stump Neck responded the a total of 16 responders. Command was established by Deputy Chief #8 (Danielson) and requested NDW Engine #211 to assist with a "observation point" from their base location. Air Boat #8 with the assistance from Boat #8 located both male subjects in minutes, secured their vessel, returning both hunters to Sweeden Point Marina..Great Job by all volunteers, DNR, CCSO, and NDW E-211
