| Just before 3:00 PM today, 49 Fire and EMS personnel from Charles and Prince George's County responded to a reported house fire in the 12400 block of Hidden View Place. Engine 33 arrived and confirmed active fire visible from the side of the house. A complete walk-around of the property showed a one-story front and a two-story rear with a walkout basement. Shortly after arrival, Battalion Chief 3A assumed command and assigned Engine 33, Truck 1, and Truck 25 to Division One. The fire was extinguished quickly, with other units remaining on scene in standby. Battalion Chief 887 was assigned to oversee safety, and Engine 151 was designated as the Rapid Intervention Team. Once water supply was established by Engine 840, command released all tanker units from the scene. Command requested the presence of SMECO, the Fire Marshal's Office, and the Red Cross. Power to the house was secured, the Fire Marshal is en route, and the Red Cross will assist the affected family directly. |
