Overnight Fire in Lancaster Brings Numerous Departments to Waldorf

02:26 A.M. this morning, 911 received a call "something was on fire maybe a shed" in the 4100 blk of Log Teal Drive in Waldorf. Fire/EMS units were immediately dispatched in minutes Chief 12A (Jordan) arrived reporting "fire showing" from the rear of the two-story duplex dwelling. As units now arriving, the fire now through the roof, command ordered everyone to evacuate the home, exterior operations only. Hand lines were deployed from exterior until fire was under control. Chief 11A (Delozier) was assigned Division 2, Chief 11B (McCormick) Division 1 gained entry with crews from 3, 1, 11, 836, 840, and BC1B. At 3:30 A.M., fire knocked, minor extension to exposures, homeowner treated on scene for smoke inhalation, one firefighter injuired hand, no transport required. SMECO on scene, Red Cross on scene, Office of the State Fire Marshal on scene conducting investigation for the cause.

Investigators have determined this fire started in the shed to the rear of the home, cause still under investigation
