The Board of Commissioners proclaimed October as Fire Prevention Month. During this month residents are encouraged to take the necessary steps to increase fire safety in their homes, such as ensuring smoke alarms are working properly and practicing fire safety when cooking at home.

We thank the Board of County Commissioners for the recognition today. The volunteer fire departments are "100% volunteer" and looking for help from the residents in Charles County. Stop by any Fire/EMS station, take a tour, speak with the volunteers there, apply today!!
