Waldorf Volunteer Firemen Make Quick Work Extinguishing a Kitchen Fire

With the outside temperatures on the rise, at approximately 11:24 A.M. Charles County 911 Center received calls for a house on fire in the Wakefield section of Waldorf. 911 center immediately dispatched the structure fire assignment bringing area Fire/EMS departments to the scene on Robinson Place. E32 arrived on scene in minutes, reporting fire and smoke showing in front of the structure. Chief 3A (Keenan) arrived established "command" utilizing E32, E31, and TW3 as "attack group". E32 confirmed a kitchen fire with minimal extension to the cabinetry above the stove. Command held units from Waldorf, releasing all units on scene. One occupant of the home was transport to area hospital for evaluation. Red Cross notified and Fire Marshall Office on scene.
