It is with a great sense of loss that the Dentsville Volunteer EMS, Fire, and Auxiliary, Inc., announce the passing of Richard H. Wheatley, Sr., fondly known to us all as “Harry”, on January 7, 2021.

Harry was a Life Member of our Department. He first applied for membership in June of 2000, at the age of 65, as an administrative member. He soon became interested in serving our company and our community by driving the ambulance. He became CPR certified, and soon passed the Emergency Vehicle Operators Course through MFRI.
Harry took great pride in responding on calls, and he continued to serve Co.15, for several years. Harry was a self-employed local farmer, and he lived in this area most of his life. He was very familiar with the area, which was of great value to his crew. No one could tell a story like Harry, and anyone will tell you he was one of a kind!

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 14, 2021, from 10 am until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am, at the St. Mary’s Newport Catholic Church – 11555 St. Mary’s Road, Charlotte Hall, MD 20622. Interment to follow in the church cemetery.

Face masks are required for all services and social distancing is to be observed with limited attendance.

At this time, the family has not requested any additional apparatus. Ambulance 158 will standby at the St. Mary’s Newport Catholic Church during visitation, Mass of Christian Burial, and the interment, in honor of our beloved member, Richard “Harry” Wheatley, Sr.

Respectfully,

Robin J. Windsor
President, Co. 15
