Fire and EMS and Collapse Team Responded to Car Inside a House

Just after 6:30 p.m. Fire, EMS and Collapse units from Bryans Road and surrounding departments including mutual aid from PGFD responded to a "car in a house" at 6900 blk of Heather Drive in the Strawberry Hills area of Bryans Road.Chief 11A arrived in minutes and confirmed the SUV was driven inside the house and the lone driver occupant was across the street. Driver was evaluated by EMS personnel on scene, required no care or transport. After further examination of the scene, units found the driver came from across the street inside the closed garage, drove through their garage door, careened across the street into the house. Building inspector, Red Cross and SMECO requested to the scene. Command (Chief 824B) holding RE113, E824, T9, SQ7, and Collapse Team from La Plata Volunteers. Chief 11A reported the vehicle was smoking from coming to rest on a bed within the house, fire is out, units remaining on the scene until the tow truck pulls car from the house. 34 Charles County Volunteers worked this incident, investigation continues by CCSO.
