This is the type of teamwork that happens to frequently yet rarely gets the media's attention. CCSO and MSP did remarkable, heroic work in removing the infants and driver from the burning vehicle. The firefighters cutting trees to access the car, extinguishing the fire, and simultaneously using the "jaws of life" to extricate the trapped occupant from the vehicle, undoubtedly saved that person's life. The care rendered by EMS units, all contributed to these five people making it to the appropriate trauma centers in a timely manner by way of three different helicopters.
Sheriff Troy Berry stated on Channel 9 news during today's press release "What happened here in Charles County is replicated across this nation, where you have a fire and EMS services doing outstanding jobs each and everyday."
There's a lot more to this story and at the time of this update all but one victim has been released from the hospital.

Special Thanks to Waldorf VFD for the story
