33 Volunteer Fire/EMS were dispatched to a residence overnight after a 911 hang-up led police to a dramatic scene: a vehicle had struck and lodged vertically against the side of a house.
Upon arrival, law enforcement discovered a vehicle partially embedded in the Bravo side of a residential structure.
Two female occupants had already escaped the vehicle by climbing through the sunroof and were in the backyard by officers.
Fire and EMS personnel quickly arrived on scene to assess injuries and secure the structure. A 33-year-old female was classified as a Priority 2 (Category A) trauma patient. Maryland State Police Trooper 2 was requested for medevac and safely landed at James Craig Elementary School, coordinated by Rescue Engine 11.
The second patient was transported by ground to a local hospital by PA-129.
Fire crews from RE-11, RE-1 and Collapse 1 conducted a full search of the vehicle and performed a structural assessment of the home to ensure there were no additional occupants and no immediate utility hazards.
RE-12 assumed patient care and support for EMS operations. All other responding units staged until released by Chief 11B (McCormick).
No structural collapse occurred, and no residents inside the home were injured. The cause of the crash remains under investigation by local police.
