|County Mobile Intensive Care Unit and Ironsides VRS Announce Passing of Life Member William Wedding|

William L. Wedding, Sr. “Chunk” passed on February 24, 2018. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margret Elaine as well as his parents, Carroll and Lucille (Wenk) Wedding and numerous siblings. He is survived by his sons, William “Pete” and George (Janice) and other children, Ed (Dale), Danny (Teresa), Janyce (Kenny), Robyn, and Mike. With his large family he is survived by his brothers and sisters as well as nieces and nephews. He was especially proud of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and other special friends.
Bill was born on August 10, 1933 in Charles County, Maryland where he remained as a resident his entire life, except during the time he served in the Army. He retired as a civil servant. He loved serving this community as an Emergency Volunteer Technician (EMT). He was a life member at the Ironsides Volunteer Rescue Squad (IVRS) and the Charles County Mobile Intensive Care Unit (CCMICU).
As an active member of the Nanjemoy Baptist Church, he loved the gospel music and socials, especially the fried oyster feasts and any activity involving fried chicken and desserts. Everyone knew his passion for riding his tractor and his favorite sport, “cutting grass”.
A visitation will be on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 from 6 PM to 8 PM with Fire/EMS service prayers at 7 PM at the La Plata Volunteer Fire Department, 911 Washington Avenue, La Plata, MD 20646.
An additional visitation will be held on Thursday, March 1, 2018 from 9AM until time of Funeral Service at 10AM at the Nanjemoy Baptist Church, 3030 Baptist Church Road, Nanjemoy, MD 20662.
Pallbearers are Frankie Wedding, Derek Guertler, SGT Brandon Slaughter, Ehren Wood, Bradley Bowling, Stone Bowling, Jesse Fenwick and Chris Whitley. Honorary Pallbearers are David Summers, Sr. and David McKeown, Sr.
Interment to follow church services in the church cemetery.
